Residential Services- essential personnel only
19th March 2020
The COVID-19 situation is rapidly evolving and in response Benetas have implemented a number of measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our clients, families and employees.
We would like to advise that as of 8am on Thursday 19 March, our residential aged care homes will be temporarily limited to essential visitors and contractors for a minimum two week period. This includes key staff, health care providers and service providers such as catering, cleaning and linen, to ensure the ongoing operations of the sites, and the health and safety of the residents. Essential visits beyond that scope are assessed on a case by case basis with a focus on the health and safety of each resident.
Whilst we have not had a confirmed case of COVID-19, in the interests of protecting our most vulnerable members of the community, we did not feel that we could wait any longer, to ensure their protection.
Benetas understands that although many services have ceased given the current climate, this does not stop older Australians from requiring much needed care. We are still admitting residents for permanent or respite care, however tours will be restricted. Benetas is committed to working with you to ensure that everyone can be supported in this challenging environment.
All of our employees, residents and families have been notified of the measures that have been put in place and they will continue to receive updates as the situation evolves.
If you are a family, friend or carer of a resident in one of our homes, please contact the Residential Manager, or call the Customer Centre on 1300 23 63 82.
