Clarinda on the Park residents and employees glam up for fashion fiesta

Crowns, colours and a catwalk engulfed Benetas Clarinda on the Park as part of its inaugural Glitz and Glamour event earlier this month.

Residents and employees took part in the event held at the aged care home on Friday, 6 March. The festivities were highlighted by a glamorous runway pageant organised by Clarinda on the Park volunteer and Mrs Galaxy Australia Finalist Shehara Fernando.

Ms Fernando not only curated the glitzy fashion display, she also helped residents dress up, style their hair and add a touch of sparkle with makeup for those who wanted it.

Dedicated makeup and hairstyling stations were popular pit stops before taking the stage, transforming the space into a mini beauty salon for the day.

Benetas CEO Sandra Hills OAM said the event brought smiles, laughter and dancing, creating special moments that celebrated the residents and their stories.

“Fabulous activities like this help residents reconnect with their memories and show off their sense of individuality and style,” Ms Hills said.

“The day was a celebration of confidence, beauty and community, leaving residents, families and employees with memories to treasure.”

More than a dozen residents and employees took part in the runway event, endowed by breathtaking beauties and dashing gents.

Discussions have already been held about holding the event again.
