Heather Magnabosco’s artistic versatility will be one of the key attractions at this month’s Bridgewater Lake Retirement Estate’s famed Easter Craft Market and Vintage Car Show.
The great-grandmother-of-two has spent her life developing her art and craft skills, which will be celebrated during the popular Roxburgh Park event in the estate’s community centre on Saturday, 28 March between 9am and 2pm.
Hundreds are expected to attend the event, which will feature a range of attractions including 16 stalls and 27 tables full of original pieces.
Mrs Magnabosco, 79, has been a key member of the market since moving into Bridgewater Lake with husband Nico seven years ago. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year.
Before arriving at the retirement village, she contributed to craft markets right across Melbourne’s north and west while raising her family.
Mrs Magnabosco said she’d been sewing for most of her life, producing blankets, children’s clothes, teddy bear clothes, bibs and baby wraps, more recently branching out into jewellery, porcelain doll and handbag production.
“It’s kept me active, it’s definitely a passion and something that has benefited both myself and other people,” Mrs Magnabosco said.
“I’m really looking forward to the day, not only for all the stalls and crafts but also the different activities on offer for families and children.”
The event will also include a vintage car show and Devonshire tea sale with facepainting and an Easter egg hunt at 11am.
