Benetas has completed a 90-bed refurbishment at St George’s aged care home in Altona Meadows, enhancing the home’s environment.
The refurbishment took place over nine months and included upgrades to bedrooms and ensuites, featuring new reverse-cycle air-conditioning units, large screen smart televisions and king-size beds.
Works were also carried out to modernise communal areas, including a new servery kitchen and cafe, feature-landscaped courtyards, lounges, quiet reading rooms and a revamped reception area.
All refurbished areas included new furniture and artwork.
St George’s caters for up to 154 residents in Melbourne’s south-west, offering a calm and supportive environment surrounded by large and beautiful gardens.
Benetas CEO Sandra Hills OAM said the refurbishment was in line with the provider’s focus on customer experience and impact as well as ensuring its homes and services are fit-for-purpose.
Ms Hills said residents were temporarily relocated to new rooms during the works with very little disruption to their care.
“These works ensure our residents receive the highest quality care in a home that meets all their modern needs,” Ms Hills said.
“Benetas works to ensure all our sites continue to receive necessary upgrades to support resident needs and care.”
