Opening of new village facilities
26th October 2017

A $10 million investment by not-for-profit aged care provider Benetas has seen the community at Dalkeith Heights Independent Living at Traralgon continue to thrive, with the official opening of the its new Village Green and Grace Avenue celebrated on 21 October.
Key community members including Latrobe City Council Mayor Kellie O’Callaghan were on hand to mark the occasion.
Benetas General Manager Strategy, Infrastructure and Housing Chris Karagiannis said the works represented the organisation’s ongoing commitment to investing in and meeting the increasing needs of seniors in the Gippsland community.
“Benetas is very proud to be part of the Gippsland community, and we want to ensure we’re continuing to raise the bar on the provision of high quality, innovative services,” said Mr Karagiannis.
“Since we amalgamated with Grace Bruce, former operator of Dalkeith Heights, we’ve continually invested in Dalkeith’s development, and are always looking for ways to best meet the needs of residents.
“The Village Green and Grace Avenue have formed part of Stage Two of works, which has seen the completion of 38 new units and civil works, with important infrastructure improvements.
The Dalkeith Heights Village Green is an outdoor leisure hub offering residents access to a competition size lawn bowls green, putting green, bocce area and exercise equipment.
Set amongst landscaped gardens, the Green also includes a vegetable patch and mini orchard for residents to tend to.
A large pergola and modern barbeque area are available for residents and their loved ones to use.
The opening of Grace Avenue, the main entrance and thoroughfare to Dalkeith Heights, will improve navigation and site access and strengthen street presence in the area.
Mr Karagiannis said that Benetas’ extensive suite of Gippsland-based aged care services, including home care and residential aged care, provided residents with an integrated and holistic approach to their health and wellbeing.
“Residents can enjoy their lives at Dalkeith Heights, knowing high-quality support is just around the corner if they need an extra hand.”
Dalkeith Heights currently consists of 112 units, with award-winning facilities including an on-site cafe, gymnasium and indoor pool.
