Gladswood Lodge resident Mavis celebrated her 103rd birthday on Monday, 7 August.
Mavis, who was born two years after the end of the first World War, is described by residents as a remarkable person who embodies enthusiasm and positivity.
Born in Berwick and raised on an orchard farm in Officer, Mavis worked in an ammunition factory during World War II.
She married Jack in 1942 and raised two children in their Maidstone home. Her family has since expanded to four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mavis has an incredible zest for life, participating in daily activities and encouraging our residents to join in, fostering a welcoming atmosphere within the home.
One of the most heart-warming things about Mavis is her ever-present smile. Combined with her cheerful demeanour, her positivity is infectious and brings a sense of joy to everyone around her.
She embodies the essence of selflessness by always lending a helping hand to others, exemplifying the true spirit of unity and support.
