There are two ways to fund your home care services:
- Pay for the services out of your own pocket
- Applying for Government funding via a Home Care Package, Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) or Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) Veterans' Home Care funding

If you’ve been assigned a Home Care Package, your reference letter from My Aged Care will outline the level of care that has been allocated to you. The subsidy Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4 determine the amount of money set aside in your package budget. Your Provider will bill the government on your behalf and deduct fees from your budget to manage your package and care plan.
What the government contributes
Upon approval, the government will assign you a Home Care Package level depending on the complexity of your needs (you may also be assigned a level below your need whilst you wait for a higher level to become available).
The government will pay Benetas a certain amount of money per fortnight (depending on your Home Care Package level), which we then provide in services to you. Use the table below to discover how many hours of service you could get per fortnight.

What you contribute
The below fees only apply to individuals on a Home Care Package. They do not apply to you if you are paying for your services privately or through another funding program.
You will NOT have to pay a basic daily care if you choose us to provide your home care. Many providers charge a basic daily care fee, so make sure you look carefully for any hidden fees with other providers.
Learn more about getting assessedIf you have or are about to get a Home Care Package, and if you do not receive a full pension, you may need to make a contribution to the cost of your care. This is known as an income-tested care fee. The fee is different for everyone because it is based on your individual income. Please note, the money you receive from the government will reduce by the same value of the income-tested fee you are assessed to pay.
If you haven’t already, you will need to have an income assessment to determine whether or not you will be required to pay this fee. We recommend you do this as soon as you can as the process can take time.
