Our development of a new seniors living health and ageing precinct in the Macedon Ranges continues to attract attention from the local community. Below is an update to share how each of these projects are progressing.
The New Oaks
We’ve made some great progress on The New Oaks to date, with all plans submitted and approved by Macedon Ranges Shire Council. While the existing facility has been refurbished for residents, we know everyone is eager for The New Oaks to be completed, which will provide the community with a new contemporary aged care facility.
After the detailed design process, we put the project out to tender in early 2022 and anticipated commencing construction late last year. However, issues with supply chain and resourcing in the construction industry have led to tender pricing being significantly higher than estimated, and we have made the decision to pause the development until conditions improve.
Our teams are staying in close touch with our industry contacts to stay abreast of changing conditions, and are ready to proceed with next steps once these issues are resolved.
We remain committed to The New Oaks and hope to reassess the situation for the project within the next six months.
Retirement Village
The retirement village development is subject to the land rezoning and planning process with Macedon Ranges Shire Council. We are still working through some site investigations prior to the community exhibition, and we expect that this application will be approved by Council.
We are continuing to explore different options to help us get construction moving as soon as possible, and remain committed to delivering both of these projects for the Macedon Ranges community in the future.
