My Aged Care: Your passport to Government-funded Home Care

Our health and needs are constantly changing, but as we get older there is more for us to consider to stay strong and living our best lives.
What worked for us six months ago, may require adjustments and greater support to accommodate our new sleeping patterns, appetites to exercise or social needs.
Taking proactive steps to preserve our health and maintain a full and holistic lifestyle has significant impact on reducing the speed of frailty, our risk of injury and hospitalisation. As part of this, we recommend you consider registering with My Aged Care to give you access to personalised services to support your lifestyle.
This scheme provides subsidised services for everything from home and garden maintenance through to transport and shopping assistance. While you mightn’t need these right now, your application will ensure they’re available for when you need them most.
Begin the process
The first step is to register with My Aged Care. This is your gateway for subsidised and fully funded support at home. You organise your passport in advance so you can get on a plane in the future. The same goes for your My Aged Care registration.
Once you are registered, you can apply for the services you need when your circumstances change. Our Home Care team is also available to guide you through this process.
What happens when you register?
To register call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 with your Medicare card on hand. The phone consultation will take ten minutes and will cover how you manage at home, existing levels of support, your medical needs and assessments and your financial situation.
You can also fill in their online form if you're finding it hard to access a consultant on the phone.
What happens next?
Once you are registered, My Aged Care will let you know if you need a face-to-face assessment. In this case, a trained assessor will visit you at home to help clarify your needs.
