Improve your safety and live in your own home longer
As you age, moving around your home is not as easy as it used to be. We can help you identify minor, or in some instances, complex adjustments to improve your safety and independence at home.
You might need to install grab bars in your bathroom or bedrails to make it safer and easier to move around and navigate. We can help you access mobility aids like walkers or wheelchairs to allow greater movement within, and around your home. Other aids such as shower chairs, adapted cutlery or other allied health equipment can provide greater independence for you at home.
Perhaps your loved ones would feel at ease if they knew you have access to technological aids such as alarms or emergency call systems. Getting quality rest is also important as you age, so maybe a recliner chair is needed, or a pressure relieving mattress or an electronic recliner bed.
Ways to enhance your comfort and independence at home
Home modifications are custom-built changes to your home to help you access and use areas of your home.
You may need home modifications, products or equipment if you:

- Have trouble getting in or out of bed, or sitting on the toilet
- Can’t use the rooms you need to use in your home
- Have continence issues
- Have difficulty achieving your goals in your home because of a disability
- Need changes to your home so your carers can support you safely
- Experience physical pain or discomfort
Home modifications can be minor changes or they can be complex. Talk to your Client Advisor for more information and to talk about your needs.
