Policy Statement
As an organisation committed to social responsibility, Benetas acknowledges the importance of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations in achieving our vision for creating a positive, fulfilling experience of ageing where everyone has the opportunity to live their best life.
Why do we have this policy?
In order to achieve our mission of supporting older Victorians, their families and carers, with high quality services and environments that respect their independence and individuality, Benetas is devoted to minimising the impacts of our operations on the planet by reducing our carbon footprint, conserving resources and investing sustainably.
We are also committed to addressing social and governance issues by fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace, prioritising community engagement and stewardship, and operating transparently with a strong adherence to ethical and legal standards.
Benetas commits to adopting ESG best practices in all aspects of our operations, and acknowledges that this will occur over time as our expertise improves. Some areas are well practised already, particularly in the areas of organisational governance and through our investments strategy which covers environmental, social and ethical considerations. The opportunity now exists to take a more integrated systemic approach across the entire organisation.
We believe that our ESG practices not only contribute to our success as a business, but also enhance our standing as a leader in aged care services, our organisation’s resilience and enrich our progress towards our strategic outcomes.
By upholding these ESG principles, Benetas is committed to being a responsible and sustainable organisation.
Who does this policy apply to?
This policy applies to all our people (including board members, external advisors and other volunteers, paid employees, trainees, work experience and tertiary students) and engaged parties of Benetas.
