Benetas commits to supporting local Men’s Shed
31st July 2018
Leading aged care provider Benetas has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support the local Gisborne Men’s Shed following its amalgamation with Macedon Ranges Health on 1 July this year.
The Gisborne Men’s Shed is an integral part of the local community and a friendly environment for local men, known as the Shedmen, to practice good mental and physical health by connecting with friends and maintaining an active mind and body.
Local Men’s Shed Chairman Ken Reither said the members were very happy to have support for the Gisborne Men’s Shed continued as Macedon Ranges Health has been a strong supporter of the group for many years.
“The Shed is a great place for men to connect while working on projects which benefit the local non-profit community or building something for themselves,” he said.
“Most importantly it is a safe place for men to go and chat over a cup of tea and a biscuit. Members are encouraged to talk about their health.”
Benetas General Manager for Strategy, Infrastructure and Housing, Chris Karagiannis expressed his excitement for this opportunity to support the Gisborne Men’s Shed.
“Benetas has a proud history of supporting local communities, underpinned by our four pillars of respect, community, spirit and responsibility,” he said.
“We understand the integral part that the Men’s Shed and the Shedmen play in the local community and Benetas is committed to supporting the great work they do.”
The Gisborne Men’s Shed is at 10 Lyell Street (next door to the Macedon Ranges Health Centre) and is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday morning. There is also a monthly BBQ at 12.30pm on the last Monday of every month at our premises. Gold coin donation and delicious food on offer.
