Find the right doctor for you
It's worthwhile finding a doctor you can relate to, or have a rapport with. That way you can build a lasting relationship and they can develop an understanding of your medical history. The more knowledge they have about you, the more likely they can make informed decisions about your health.
It's also a good idea to have your doctor's name and phone number in your favourites on your mobile phone, or on speed dial on your landline. That way you can get in contact with them easily if you need to.

Prevention is key
As you get older, it's a good idea to have a check-up with your doctor every 6 months, even if you don't have any ailments. It will help you prevent issues before they arise. Another great way to check for any changes to your health, and your risk of frailty, is to take the Positive Ageing Tool Health Check.
When it comes to health, prevention is key. Screening programs are designed for people without any signs or symptoms. We recommend completing early screenings for health concerns such as bowel cancer, skin cancer, cervical cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, breast cancer, prostate cancer and visual and hearing impairment.
