1st July 2020 Pricing Changes
Community Health & Care
Benetas will be increasing the fees for Home Care Package services, private In Home Nursing and Commonwealth Home Support services from 1 July 2020.
What is changing?
1. The hourly rate for all services for Home Care Package and In Home Nursing clients will be increasing. Please note however, that the percentage rate for fees will not be changing.
2. As a result of client feedback, Benetas will be placing a cap on the External Provider Handling Fee on contracts signed after 1 July 2019, at $80 per transaction, or 4.99% if that is the lower amount.
Clients on grandfathered agreements for Home Care Package Level 1 or Level 2 (those that did not sign the new agreement from 1 July 2019) will not be charged a handling fee.
3. For Commonwealth Home Support Programme clients, the personal contribution will also be increasing.
4. We are now using the terms Care Management instead of Advisory and Coordination and Package Management Fee instead of Administration Fees for clients who have signed a contract from 1 July 2019 onwards. This is in line with the terminology used on My Aged Care.
What is not changing?
Benetas charges a set percentage of the Home Care Package subsidy by the government to cover the costs of Care Management and Package Management. Whilst the subsidy provided by the government has changed (a new temporary subsidy increase has been provided between March 2020 and 31 August 2020), the percentage rate for Care and Package Management fees have not changed. This means the client may see a small increase in fees, but also an increase in money to spend on services.
Why are the fees changing?
Benetas works hard to provide a competitive rate for our clients and we need to balance the costs to the business with trying to keep costs to our clients as low as we can. This increase was required to manage increasing external financial pressures, ensuring we can continue to provide important care and support services that enable our clients to live their best lives.
How are we letting clients know?
We will be writing to inform our clients of the increase on from 29th May 2020 to give them 28 plus days’ notice of this change, which is in line with regulatory requirements. Benetas Client Advisors will also be contacting every client to ensure they understand the increases and how they relate to each individual situation.
Please take the time to review the below pricing schedules and do not hesitate to contact your Manager if you have any questions.
How can I tell the difference between the grandfathered and new agreement pricing schedules?
The grandfathered pricing schedule has a different photograph on the front cover. It is a photo of two older people with a child. This document also has a statement on the bottom left corner of the front page 'for clients on grandfathered agreements.' You will also see a tiny code on the back cover of both documents which distinguishes the two.
