There are many ways you can access and pay for your health care services at Macedon Ranges Health. You can reduce or remove your out-of-pocket costs through a range of state and national government-funded programs and rebates, or you can pay privately. Discover your options below.

Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC)
If you’re living with a chronic condition, you may be eligible to receive up to 5 discounted sessions per 12 months with a range of health care clinicians. Please speak to your GP about your eligibility.
Your out-of-pocket fee will depend on the clinician you book with. Please contact us to determine the exact fees.
Mental Health Plan (MHP)
Your GP can sign you up to a MHP to receive up to 10 sessions per 12 months. The Medicare rebates are $86.15 for psychologists, $126.50 for clinical psychologists and $75.95 for counsellors.
Your out-of-pocket fee will depend on the clinician you book with. Please contact us to determine the exact fees.
CHSP
The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) helps older Australians access entry-level support services to live independently and safe at home. If you’re having trouble with every-day tasks, and are 65 years or older or 50 years and older and on a low income, homeless or at risk of homelessness – you could be eligible. Community Health
The Community Health Programme gives a range of people access to discounted health care services such as psychology and counselling, physiotherapy, dietetics, diabetes education, and Well Women's clinic.
You may be eligible if you are socially or economically disadvantaged, experience poorer overall health outcomes or have complex care needs or limited access to appropriate health care. This includes:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Refugees and asylum seekers
- Health Care cardholders and Pensioners
Eligibility is based on your income.
DVA
The Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) funds a wide range of health services required by veterans and/or their widows if they are holders of a DVA Gold Card. For more information visit www.dva.gov.au
HACC PYP
If you’re under 65, or Aboriginal under 50 and need assistance with daily living activities, you could be eligible for subsidised support services through the 'Home and Community Care Program for Younger People' (HACCPYP).
These services can support you if you’re experiencing physical and/or psychosocial functional impairment related to disability, chronic illness and short-term health needs. We offer the following personalised services for eligible people:
- Social Support
- Health Care - Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Dietetics
- District Nursing and Continence Nursing

Home Care Packages (HCP) are available for older Australians who have complex care needs beyond that which CHSP can provide. You can access services under a Home Care Package that will help you continue to live independently at home. To apply or for more information visit www.myagedcare.gov.au
NDIS
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (known as the NDIS) is a national Government initiative for people living with a permanent and significant disability. As an NDIS recipient, you can access a range of support at Macedon Ranges Health including community access, nursing, psychology, counselling, daily living support, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, podiatry and more!
TAC
If you’ve been involved in a transport accident, you may be eligible for funded health care services that will aid in your recovery. Please visit www.tac.vic.gov.au. Macedon Ranges Health can provided TAC funded dietetics, speech pathology, podiatry, physiotherapy, exercise physiology and psychology.
TPSS
Targeted Psychological Support Services (TPSS) provides free short term psychological support for eligible adults with a diagnosed mild to moderate mental illness and for eligible people under the age of 18 with a provisional mental health diagnosis. You may also be eligible if you are a low income earner (Health Care Card Holder), homeless, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, a refugee or asylum seeker, transitioning out of a justice/ corrections system or identify as LGBTIQ. You’ll receive up to 12 sessions at no cost. Your GP must send their referral to Care In Mind. Ask your GP for more information.
Worksafe
If you’ve had an injury at work, you may be eligible for compensation through Worksafe, enabling you to receive funded health care services that will aid in your recovery.
WorkSafe can pay reasonable costs of approved services but reasonable costs doesn’t always mean payment of the full costs. Sometimes there might be a difference or gap between what Macedon Ranges Health charges and what WorkSafe can pay.
Some types treatment can be accessed without a referral, however other treatment may require a referral or approval from your WorkSafe agent.

Other Fee Information
When is my Medicare rebate applied?
You will be required to pay the full fee upfront. Your Medicare rebate will then be applied.
Are there any additional fees?
Many of the health care services offered at Macedon Ranges Health will have an out-of-pocket fee not covered by a Medicare rebate or government-funding. Please call our friendly team on (03) 5428 0300 to discuss the fees specific to the service you wish to book.
You will also be charged a cancellation fee if you do not give 24 hours notice. This is 50% of your consultation fee.
How much do you charge for home visits?
Fees for home visits are determined by each clinician. Please contact us to find out more.
Any travel outside of Gisborne (3437) and New Gisborne (3438) will be charged in 15 minute increments up to a maximum of 30 minutes each way.
