Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Latest news and updates from Benetas

Coronavirus actions across Benetas

Benetas is taking every measure to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its residents, clients and employees and is committed to keeping the Benetas community informed throughout this difficult time.

Residential Aged Care

Visitor Access Program
Benetas is committed to managing visitor access at our residential aged care homes to ensure the utmost health and wellbeing of the older Australians in our care. We are closely monitoring public health directives and transmission in the community to manage visitor provisions. Please find latest updates on these measures and how to make a booking.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases at St George's Residential Aged Care
We are very pleased to advise that as of Saturday 26 September, the Department of Health and Human Services has stood down our Altona Meadows St George’s aged care home as no longer an outbreak. Please see our all status updates and FAQs for further details.

Colton Close and The Views at Heidelberg cleared of potential risk
Following the risk of Covid-19 at two of our aged care homes, Colton Close in Glenroy and The Views in Heidelberg, we are incredibly thankful that all test results have returned negative for both homes. The Department of Health and Human Services has lifted the outbreak restrictions and our teams continue to practice stringent infection prevention and control measures consistent across all Benetas homes.

Home Care

Your health, wellbeing and independence at home is more important than ever. We continue to provide essential care and support for the older people living at home, albeit with more rigorous health, safety and hygiene protocols and practices in place. Find out what's happening with home care services and how we are adapting here.

Please be advised, gardening services for Home Care Package clients can continue during Metro Melbourne's Stage 4 restrictions as confirmed by the Victorian Government.

Respite

To comply with ongoing restrictions and ensure the safety of our clients, their families and our employees, a number of Benetas respite service centres have been closed until further notice. This includes Hurlingham, Kilby House and Bateman House. Benetas continues to offer important respite care at our residential locations across Victoria. In-home respite also remains available through our ongoing Home Care Services.

Retirement Living

Ongoing infection and prevention control measures continue to be in place across the management of our retirement living home, Dalkeith Heights. Please be advised, that during Stage 4 restrictions, the Community Centre has been closed until further notice.

Health Care

Macedon Ranges Health services continue to operate from our centre. A strong screening process has been implemented to protect the health and wellbeing of our community. We have also set up a range of solutions to support those who cannot or prefer not to visit the centre, including video or telehealth appointments. If you have an appointment and are feeling unwell, please call ahead to discuss your situation.
