Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Latest news and updates from Benetas

Coronavirus actions across Benetas

Benetas is taking every measure to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its residents, clients and employees and is committed to keeping the Benetas community informed throughout this difficult time.

Residential Aged Care

Confirmed COVID-19 cases at St George's Residential Aged Care
Since 3rd of July, Benetas’ Altona Meadows St George’s home has been managing confirmed COVID-19 cases. Please follow the status and updates here. We have also released FAQs regarding efforts in place and actions being taken.

Restricted Visitor Access in areas of Heightened Transmission
In line with the Stage 3 "Stay at Home" restrictions reinstated by the Victorian Government, Benetas is temporarily restricting visitor access to all our residential aged care homes across Victoria. Find out more about the restrictions and read our Frequently Asked Questions.

Home Care

Your health, wellbeing and independence at home is more important than ever. We continue to provide essential care and support for the older people living at home, albeit with more rigorous health, safety and hygiene protocols and practices in place.

Please note, gardening services for Home Care Package clients can continue during Metro Melbourne's stage 4 lockdown - as confirmed by the Victorian Government.

To comply with restrictions, and ensure the safety of our clients, their families and our employees, a number of Benetas respite service centres have been closed until further notice. This includes Hurlingham, Kilby House and Bateman House.

However, Benetas continues to offer respite care at our residential locations across Victoria. In-home respite is also available.

Retirement Living

To protect the health and safety of our residents and employees, the Dalkeith Heights Community Centre has been closed until further notice.

Health Care

Macedon Ranges Health services continue to operate from our centre. A strong screening process has been implemented to protect the health and wellbeing of our community. We have also set up a range of solutions to support those who cannot or prefer not to visit the centre, including video or telehealth appointments. If you have an appointment and are feeling unwell, please call ahead to discuss your situation.

Visitor Support Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers to help.

Got a couple of hours to spare to help us in our Residences? As we once again open our doors to visits from loved ones during set visiting hours, we are requesting assistance from interested volunteers to help welcome and pre-screen visitors. You will be supported and directed along every step of the way.
