Partnership to create opportunities for aged care students

Benetas has recently joined forces with leading Victorian vocational and higher education provider Box Hill Institute to raise the bar of the standard of care and support offered to older Victorians.

Benetas is working closely with Box Hill Institute coordinators to ensure the Aged Care and Home and Community Care courses offered are of the highest standard, are industry recognised and are renowned for producing top quality aged care graduates. Students will also be able to undertake work placement and have the opportunity gain future employment with Benetas.

The courses are designed to meet the needs of the complex and carefully regulated Aged Care industry, and will work to ensure that future aged care workers have the skills needed to deliver outstanding levels of service to older Victorians, their families and carers.

As part of this partnership, Benetas was proud to sponsor the Industry Student of Excellence Award, presented at the Institute’s recent graduation ceremony.

Tim Trewin, a final year Certificate III in Aged Care student, received the award in recognition of his commitment to study and contribution to the broader community. General Manager Residential Services and Quality, Compliance and Continuous Improvement, Paula Trood, was on hand to present Tim with his award on behalf of Benetas, along with a $1000 cheque, text book and nursing utility kit.
