Development starts to expand Dalkeith Heights

The next phase of development at Dalkeith Heights Independent Living in Traralgon was celebrated in late October, with Latrobe City Council Deputy Mayor Cr Dale Harriman and Cr Sandy Kam joining former Grace Bruce board members, Dalkeith Heights residents, Benetas staff and local community members to officially ‘turn the sod’.

The expansion will see an additional 45 units built at the site, which will cater for the growing needs of the local Gippsland community.

Benetas General Manager Property Infrastructure, Development and Housing, Chris Karagiannis, said the expansion was reflective of Benetas’ commitment to investing in the local area.

“Dalkeith Heights is a thriving community and one in which Benetas is proud to be a part,” said Mr Karagiannis.

“We are committed to supporting the local community with the provision of high quality, modern independent living options that will meet the needs of current and future residents.”

Dalkeith Heights was officially opened in 2012 under former operator Grace Bruce, which amalgamated with Benetas in 2012.

“Since that time, Benetas has remained committed to the continued development of the village and is planning to add a further 45 units towards the north and east of the site,” said Mr Karagiannis. “We plan to have nine units completed by 2015, with the balance to follow soon after.”

Dalkeith Heights is an award winning independent living village for over 55s, and features a modern Community Centre with indoor pool, gym and cafe. It is complemented by the other Benetas services available in the Gippsland area, including aged care residential homes Benetas Dalkeith Hostel in Traralgon and Benetas Hazelwood House in Churchill, and Benetas Home Care services.
