Benetas Corowa Court expansion

The $13 million expansion of Benetas Corowa Court in Mornington is now well underway, with works on track to be completed by mid 2016.

The redevelopment, which will see the capacity of the facility doubled from 60 to 120 beds, is part of Benetas’ commitment to providing modern and contemporary housing models that meet the changing needs of older people.

Benetas General Manager Strategy, Infrastructure and Housing Chris Karagiannis said the build was fast gaining momentum.

“We’ve completed the lower level foundations, with the ground floor slab poured this month,” said Mr Karagiannis. “Work will then continue on the floors and walls of the ground and first levels, with the roof expected to be put on in May.”

“I know residents and members of the local Mornington community have been keeping a keen eye on the developments, and I hope they’re as pleased with the progress as we are.”

The state of the art development will see a range of innovations introduced, including ‘cluster style living’. The development is based around a carefully mapped out floor plan aimed at increasing the social connectedness of residents and ensuring they can easily access the in-house amenities they need.

“Benetas is very proud to be building such a responsive facility, and we’re confident it will help to provide the best outcomes possible for our residents,” said Mr Karagiannis.

“We are committed to investing in and supporting the local Mornington community and look forward to welcoming many new residents next year.”
