Benetas adds in home nursing to suite of services

Benetas was excited to announce that in early February it had expanded its range of in home services to include community nursing, after acquiring the In Home Nursing and Support (IHNS) service which had been previously run by community service provider BASS Care (Boroondara Aged Services Society).

The acquisition means that IHNS has been purchased by Benetas, with all community nursing services to be managed by Benetas, well into the future.

The Benetas IHNS service provides a range of nursing and support services to help Victorians of any age enjoy an independent lifestyle in the comfort of their own homes. Nursing services offered include personal care, acute and chronic wound management, medication management and palliative care. The service also provides clients with a hand at home, helping with domestic tasks such as housework and cleaning, clothes washing and meal preparation, as well as respite for carers.

Benetas CEO, Sandra Hills said that she was delighted that the IHNS service has become an integral part of the state-wide operations of Benetas.

“Benetas has a vision for the future where all older Victorians have a positive experience of ageing. We hear every day that people want to stay in their own homes for as long as possible, and Benetas is committed to supporting these people to achieve their goals. We are thrilled that for the first time in our history Benetas is able to offer registered community nursing support,” Ms Hills said.

“We were really keen to expand our current range of in home services, so the opportunity to acquire BASS Care’s IHNS service was therefore very much welcomed by us.”
