The Benetas Executive Team ensures the successful day to day running of Benetas as well as strategy planning for the future.

With varied and experienced backgrounds, the team leads Benetas to be one of the most successful not-for-profit aged care providers in Victoria.

Executive Team

Sandra Hills , Chief Executive Officer
MBA; GDipHumanServMgt; GCertHlthServR&E; BA (Psych and Soc)

Sandra Hills joined Benetas in 2009 with career experience in local and state government and the not-for-profit sector and has qualifications spanning: nursing, psychology, research and business management. Sandra was acknowledged for her service to aged care in Victoria with a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division, in the 2017 Queen’s Birthday HonourList. As a voice and advocate for older people, Sandra’s published works span topics including social isolation, consumer engagement, promotion of a good ageing and end of life experience, quality and best practice, and future reform agenda. Sandra continues to work in leadership roles within the community including as a long-serving ex-Director and Vice President of Leading Age Services Victoria and its predecessors, Deputy Chairperson Anglicare Australia, a member of the National Aged Care Alliance and LASA Policy Advisory Committee (VIC).

Neil Fawcett , Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary

Neil joined Benetas in August 2007 and has over 10 years experience in a range of senior management roles. His work has covered a number of different industries including accounting, financial services, executive recruitment, health and aged care. Previous employers include Ernst & Young Auditing and Consulting (Melbourne and USA), GE Commercial, Korn/Ferry International Futurestep. Neil was also Financial Controller at State Street Australia Limited.

Neil joined Benetas in August 2007 and has over 10 years experience in a range of senior management roles. His work has covered a number of different industries including accounting, financial services, executive recruitment, health and aged care. Paula Trood, General Manager Residential Services, Quality & Compliance

Paula commenced with Benetas in April 2007 and has been General Manager of Residential Services & Quality and Compliance since early 2013. Prior to this she held various roles across the organisation including General Manager Community Services and
Regional Residential Manager. Over her 25 year career, she has worked as a Registered Nurse in the acute, community and aged care sectors, all with a focus on improving the quality of life for older people. Her passion is to drive sector-wide change to remove the barriers to full and meaningful lives for older people. Paula’s specialties include service delivery development, business improvement, quality systems, residential strategy development and implementation. She is currently a member of the NACA Quality Indicator Reference Group and is a regular industry presenter.

Chris Karagiannis , General Manager, Strategy, Infrastructure and Housing

Chris Karagiannis joined Benetas in July 2008 with an extensive background in a range of public and private sectors, including government and a listed Australian property group. Chris’ experience covers strategic and business management, project management office and program management, property development and infrastructure management, commercial property acquisitions, sales and marketing and corporate management. Chris is recognised for providing innovative solutions and delivering business growth and major projects, with a particular specialisation in the development and acquisition of health, aged care and retirement living assets.

Chris Karagiannis joined Benetas in July 2008 with an extensive background in a range of public and private sectors, including government and a listed Australian property group.
Jeremy McAuliffe, General Manager, Benetas Home Care
DipYW; GDipBA

Jeremy joined Benetas in February 2014, having spent the past 30 years working across the community and corporate sectors. Prior to joining Benetas, Jeremy was General Manager of Community Services at Villa Maria, and previous to that spent six years working in Human Resources at Coles Myer. He has also spent a significant amount of time working in various youth, disability and homeless organisations including six years at the Brotherhood of St Laurence.

As General Manager Benetas at Home, Jeremy brings significant experience in building effective teams to achieve high quality client outcomes, and is particularly interested in the areas of quality, technology and finance. He is particularly committed to ensuring that Benetas remains at the forefront of service provision in this changing aged care environment.

Nicola Reynolds, General Manager, Customer Innovation and Marketing
MBus; GDipInnovation and Entrepreneurship; BA

Nicola comes to Benetas with over 20 years' experience in senior roles in business and marketing strategy in both the private and public sectors across aged care and community services, education, public transport, health, data marketing sectors. These roles have typically been undertaken as sectors face major, micro, funding or environmental changes.  Nicola’s experience covers brand differentiation, market research, campaign management across mass and digital channels, public affairs and advocacy  and corporate reputation management. Nicola is passionate about bringing market insights into an organisation to build genuine market and customer-focused businesses and in creating sustainable market growth in complex markets.

Nicola's high level marketing and analytical skills enable her to identify creative business partnerships and opportunities, which she does with enthusiasm and effective team management.

Nicola holds a Master of Business (Marketing), Graduate Diploma in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Bachelor of Arts, and is currently studying toward a Diploma in Positive Psychology. She is a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) and a winner of 13 state and national marketing awards.
