Celebrating Aged Care Employee Day

Today is Aged Care Employee Day, a national day to celebrate each and every employee involved in the journey of caring for older Australians. And while every day of every year should be used to appreciate aged care workers around Australia, this year more than ever we should take a minute to stop and thank them. Thank you. Thank you for the often-thankless work you do.

From the nurses and care workers, to the cooks and hospitality teams, allied health workers, cleaners and laundry employees, to the leisure and lifestyle officers and administration teams – Aged Care Employee Day is to recognise the entire workforce. This year’s theme #ThanksforCaring recognises the more than 360,000 staff who are involved in caring for 1.3 million older Australians receiving age services.
