Exceptional care – peace of mind

Knowing what care options are available, what is most suitable for you or your loved one and understanding the funding options available to you, can be overwhelming. Here we take you through it step-by-step.

There are three main types of care available:

1.    Live with us in a residential care facility,

2.    Care to stay at home, and

3.    Respite care, giving carers a break.

Live with us - Residential care

Benetas residential care facilities are renowned for providing dignified, quality and individualised care. A positive caring environment is created where each individual is respected and valued. There are different types of residential care available depending on the level of care needed:

  • Low care (hostel)
Clients receive 24-hour care with ‘hotel’ type services, allowing them to remain independent in some aspects of their daily life.
  • High care (nursing home/hostel)
Clients receive 24-hour care with ‘hotel’ type services, often requiring specialist nursing care.
  • Dementia-specific care units
This environment provides a secure level of care specifically designed to comfort and reassure those living with dementia

Care to stay at home

Want to stay living in your own home? There are a range of options that can give you that helping hand you need to stay at home comfortably for as long as possible.

Option 1: Government-funded packages
The Government funds two aged care packages providing care so that older people can stay living comfortably in their own homes. The level of care is comparable with the care provided in a residential care facility. If you are eligible for a package a Care Manager will coordinate the assistance needed in the home.

  • Low level care - Community Aged Care Package (CACP).
  • High level care - Extended Aged Care Package (EACH) including dementia packages (EACHD).

To find out if you or a loved one is eligible for a care package, you will need to get an assessment from the Aged Care Assessment Team. Your GP can make a referral for you.
