John McKenzie, Chairman

John McKenzie is Chairperson of the Benetas Nomination and Remuneration Committee and ex officio member of all Benetas Board Committees. John has extensive experience as an executive general manager and general manager in both for profit and not-for-profit organisations and is currently Chairman and member of several boards in both sectors. Previous organisations for which John has been a director include Anglicare Victoria, AAA Tourism, Monash University Accident Research Centre and Assist Australia.


Dr Gerry Naughtin

Dr Gerard Naughtin is Chairperson of the Benetas Strategy Committee and member of the Benetas Nominations and Remuneration Committee. He currently holds the position of CEO of Mind Australia and is a former Associate Professor, Social Policy and Ageing, a joint position between the Brotherhood of St Laurence and La Trobe University, School of Social Work and Social Policy. He has over 25 years of involvement in aged care policy and service development and has held senior management roles in aged care in government, not-for-profit and business sectors.


Diane Pardo

Diane Pardo is the Chairperson of the Investment Funds Management Sub Committee of the Board, of which she has been a member since 2004. She has over 25 years’ investment management experience, with senior investment management roles Scottish Amicable Life Assurance Society, and was Head of International Investments at Colonial First State. In addition she has extensive project management experience in the commercial property sector.


Sabine Phillips

Sabine Phillips is Chairperson of the Benetas Clinical Governance Committee. She is Principal at Melbourne-based law firm Russell Kennedy, practicing primarily in Health and Aged Care.  In addition to her extensive legal experiences, Sabine is a director of Northern Health and is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing and the College of Nurse Managers, and an Associate of the College of Health Service Executives.


David Percival

David Percival is Chairperson of the Benetas Audit and Risk Committee. He was previously the Vice-Principal and Chief Financial Officer of The University of Melbourne and a former director of numerous university and corporate boards, including the Melbourne Business School. David also has over 20 years experience as a Chief Financial Officer. 


Dr Graeme Blackman

Dr Graeme Blackman is currently Chairman of IDT Australia Limited, a publicly listed pharmaceutical development and manufacturing company, Deputy Chairman of the Australian Stem Cell Centre and a Director of Medicines Australia.  He is a member of Archbishop in Council of the Diocese of Melbourne and is Chairman of the Anglican Development Fund Committee.  Graeme is a senior member of several other key boards, church and government groups and has been Chairman of Anglicare Victoria, the State's largest child and family welfare organisation, for nine years.


The Venerable Dr Bradly Billings

The Venerable Dr Bradly Billings has been the vicar of St John's in Toorak since 2009 and Archdeacon of Stonnington and Glen Eira since April 2010. Dr Billings has published several articles about the historical context of the New Testament and early Christianity, and continues to write and research in the field. He is highly involved in the community: in addition to his responsibilities at St John's and to the Anglican Church he is also a member of the council of St Catherine's School Toorak, honorary chaplain to the Toorak branch of the RSL, and president of St John's Kindergarten.


Bill Hanscombe

Bill Hanscombe works in all aspects of property and related law which includes advice, complex negotiations and due diligence exercises. Bill has extensive experience in the property industry and he has worked at a senior level for many years. He also acts generally for a national retail company in its day-to -day property transactions in Victoria and Tasmania, chiefly concerning supermarket and department store developments. Bill has experience acting in transactions across many industries, including viticulture, retail chains, aged care facilities, private hospitals, affordable housing, forestry, commercial and industrial property. 


Diane Sullivan

Diane Sullivan has been an external advisor to the Benetas Board since 2009. Diane has significant executive experience in the development, commissioning, governance and management of health, aged care, Indigenous, community and rural health organisations.
Diane is currently the Managing Director of Oban Consulting Pty Ltd, the Chair of South East Palliative Care Ltd. and a member of the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing  Administrator and Nurse Advisor panel.
